Four lanes, 100 meters, and you against three CPU runners. Everything starts at the blocks: wait through READY and SET, react to the gun, then hammer your input as fast as you can to the finish. Tapping before the gun is a false start and ends the race instantly with a disqualification, so the discipline is half the challenge. Your reaction time off the gun is measured to the thousandth of a second, and your speed is driven purely by how fast you fire taps, scaling with your tap rate and capping out near top speed, so faster pressing is always better. Any input counts as a tap, whether you touch the screen, click, or press Space, Left, or Right, and there is no need to alternate keys. Slack off for a moment and you start to decelerate.
