Editor's Notes
Clear the board by building all eight runs from King down to Ace in a single suit, at which point each finished run lifts off automatically
What players will love
- Create empty columns as early as possible, as they are essential for rearranging cards and building sequences
- Focus on uncovering face-down cards, as hidden information limits your ability to plan effectively
- Try to build sequences in the same suit whenever possible, even if it means making seemingly slower progress
- Before dealing from the stock, make sure every column has at least one card, as empty columns must be filled before dealing
- Plan several moves ahead and consider how each move affects your ability to build complete sequences later

About Spider Solitaire
Clear the board by building all eight runs from King down to Ace in a single suit, at which point each finished run lifts off automatically. The deal lays 54 cards across ten columns (six to the first four columns, five to the rest) with the top card of each column face up, and the remaining 50 cards wait in the stock to be dealt ten at a time, one onto every column. You can stack a card on any card one rank higher of any suit, but only an unbroken same-suit descending run can be picked up and moved as a group, which is the heart of the puzzle. There are two difficulty settings: pick 1 Suit to learn the flow or 2 Suits for a real test. Scoring starts at 500 and drops a point per move, while each completed King-to-Ace run adds 100. Undo is always available (button or the Z key), backing up through the last 30 board states. This is a card game for entertainment only, with no real money involved.

How to Play Spider Solitaire
Ten columns of cards are dealt, with some face-up and others face-down. Move single cards or sequences of same-suited cards between columns. A card or sequence can be placed on a card one rank higher regardless of suit, but only same-suit sequences can be moved as a group. Build complete sequences from King down to Ace in the same suit to remove them. When stuck, deal another row from the stock pile, which places one card on each column. Win by removing all eight complete sequences. Empty columns are valuable as they act as free spaces for rearranging cards.
Controls
Click or tap a card to select it, then click the destination column to move it; drag and drop works too for cards and same-suit runs. Click the stock pile (or the Deal button) to deal another row of cards. Reverse your last move with the Undo button or the Z key. Completed King-to-Ace runs are detected and cleared off the board automatically, so there is nothing to double-click.

Frequently Asked Questions
What difficulty should I start with?
This version has two settings: 1 Suit and 2 Suits. Start with 1 Suit to learn the mechanics without juggling colors, then move up to 2 Suits once you can win consistently. There is no four-suit mode here.
Can every deal be won?
Not every deal is winnable, and the two-suit setting is noticeably harder than the one-suit one. Skilled players win the vast majority of one-suit games but only a minority of two-suit games. The goal in either mode is to clear all eight King-to-Ace runs of a single suit.
How does scoring work?
You begin with 500 points and lose one point per move, while each completed King-down-to-Ace run is worth 100 points. Your result is saved as a local high score. Note that you can only deal from the stock when every column has at least one card.
