About Slapjack

It comes down to who slaps first. This is a head-to-head reflex duel: a 52-card deck is split 26 and 26 between you and a single AI rival, and cards flip onto the central pile automatically on a timer (about every 0.8 seconds on your turn, a touch slower for the AI). The instant a Jack lands face-up you have a window to slap, and so does the AI, whose reaction lands somewhere between 0.3 and 0.8 seconds after the Jack appears. Beat it and the whole pile (shuffled first) joins the bottom of your deck; your reaction time in milliseconds flashes in the HUD. Slap when the top card is not a Jack and one of your cards is handed straight to the AI. The match ends the moment either deck runs dry, and whoever is holding more cards at that instant wins. Your final card count is saved as your high score. No real money is involved.

How to Play Slapjack

The 52-card deck is split evenly, 26 cards to you and 26 to the AI. Cards turn over onto the central pile automatically, alternating between you and the AI on a short timer, so you never click to flip. When a Jack appears face-up, slap as fast as you can (click, tap, or Spacebar). If you beat the AI's reaction you take the whole pile, shuffled, onto the bottom of your deck and your reaction time shows in the HUD; if the AI slaps first the pile goes to it. Slapping when the top card is not a Jack hands one of your cards to the AI. There is no way back once a deck empties: the game ends immediately, and the player holding more cards wins.

Controls

Cards flip on their own; you do not control the flipping. The moment a Jack appears, slap by clicking or tapping anywhere on the screen, or by pressing Spacebar on desktop. Slap only on Jacks: any slap while a non-Jack is showing costs you a card. Reaction speed is everything.
