## About Rope Swing

One button, one endless run, and a satisfying pendulum to master. Tap, click, Space, or the up arrow to throw a rope at the nearest anchor within 250 pixels that sits above you; tap again to let go and fling yourself forward. The rope locks to whatever length you grabbed at and never shortens, and the pendulum is damped about half a percent per frame, so you slowly lose energy rather than winding up faster, which makes well-timed releases the real skill. Terrain generates ahead of you with platforms, ceiling-hung anchors, and stars, the latter appearing near roughly 60% of anchors and worth 50 points each. Your final score is your star points plus the distance you cover, where ten pixels equals one unit. You can also land on platforms to steady yourself between swings, and falling below the screen ends the run. Your best distance is saved locally.

## How to Play Rope Swing

Your character falls until you grab the nearest anchor within 250 pixels that sits above you. The rope holds the length it grabbed at and you swing as a pendulum, gradually losing a little energy to damping each frame, so release at the right moment to fling yourself toward the next anchor. Press again to grab a new rope and keep your momentum going. Land on platforms to settle between swings if you need to. There is one endless mode: swing as far as you can, since falling below the screen ends the run. Collect stars for +50 each, and your distance plus star points make up your score.

## Controls

Tap, click, press Space, or press the up arrow to grab the nearest anchor above you and to release again. Each press toggles between grabbing and letting go; the timing of your release sets your launch angle and distance. Single-button gameplay makes it playable on any device.

## Rope Swing Tips & Strategies

1. Release near the bottom of your arc for maximum horizontal distance, or higher up the arc for more height.
2. Grab early. The rope only reaches anchors within 250 pixels that are above you, so do not wait until you have fallen past them.
3. Remember the swing loses energy to damping rather than gaining it, so a clean single release usually beats stalling for extra arcs.
4. When a platform is below you, you can land on it to steady yourself before lining up the next grab.
5. Detour through stars when they are on your arc, since each adds 50 points on top of your distance score.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How far can you swing?

There is a single endless mode where the terrain generates ahead of you forever. Your distance (ten pixels per unit) plus star bonuses make up your score, and your best is saved on your device.

### Does Rope Swing use realistic physics?

Yes, the swinging is true pendulum physics. The rope holds the length you grabbed at and the swing is gently damped each frame, so momentum is lost slowly, which makes the timing predictable once you get a feel for it.

### Is this game suitable for young children?

Yes. Rope Swing has simple single-button controls and no violent content, so players of all ages can enjoy it. The skill is all in timing your grabs and releases.
